Frequently Asked Questions
Q. My period just started! Can I still get waxed?
A. Yes, you can get waxed during your period. Your body is more sensitive so it may be more tender but sometimes you just can't avoid it! You must wear a tampon or diva cup during your waxing appointment.
Q. Is this going to hurt?
A. Yes. Will it be as bad as you think? NO! Brazilian waxing is something you have to try at least twice before you decide if you like it. The pain caused from waxing is due to the size of the root on the hair. The root continues to grow the whole time it's in the skin. The first time you wax that root will be much larger than your second appointment four weeks after. It's also common to have 50% less hair so less hair plus smaller roots equals a much easier experience!
Q. Should I do anything to prepare for my appointment?
A. Ibuprofen 20-30 minutes prior to your wax will help to prevent inflammation of the hair follicles. Shower, exfoliate, moisturize the evening before your morning appointment. If you have an afternoon/evening appointment shower, exfoliate, moisturize morning of.
Do not tan within 3 days of your appointment or 3 days after
Q. How long do I need to let the hair grow before my wax?
A. Your hairs should be about 1/4 inch long or the length of a piece of rice. Most people are ready to wax 2-3 weeks from their last shave. If you think your hairs are too long no worries....I will trim them the length I want them before waxing.
